OUR STAFF

The UCUC Preschool Director has a BS degree in Child Development. All of the Staff members are professionals with sound education in Child Development and are CPR & First Aid qualified. They remain current in all areas of child development by attending workshops and conferences, as well as maintaining membership in NAEYC and SDAEYC. (mouse over individual staff photos to enlarge)

Tracy Martin

Director

I am deeply committed to my work with young children and their families. As early childhood educators our job is to understand who the child is, how they relate to the world and what they need to support their own learning and discovery. I am grateful to be part of the UCUC Preschool community and seek to create a space where students, families and teachers can grow and thrive. Thank you for sharing your child with us.

Education:
B.A. in Early Childhood Education with an emphasis on Preschool Administration at National University.

Certifications:
Program Director Permit issued from the CA Commission on Teacher Credentialing
Master Teacher Permit issued from the CA Commission on Teacher Credentialing

Experience:
3 years of experience working in preschool administration and teacher mentoring. Over 20 yearsí experience working in the field of early childhood education. Previous lead teaching experience with 2ís, 3ís and 4 year olds.

Hobbies/Interest/Enjoys:
I enjoy having time to relax, unwind, cook, and have recently taken up playing the piano. I have a passion for good food and good health. My husband Mike and I enjoy training for endurance races and traveling. My family, three adult children, grandchild and pet dogs continue to encourage me and inspire me to see the beauty in everyday and for that, I am truly blessed.


Kendra Brownsberger

Assistant Director

Education:
MEd in Secondary Education – University of California Los Angeles
BS in Applied Mathematics – University of California Los Angeles
Early Childhood Education Course Work- Grossmont-Cuyamaca College

Certifications:
CA Commission on Teacher Credentialing Site Supervisor Permit

Experience:
6 years of co-teaching children, ages 3-5 years in a Reggio Inspired Preschool Program
6 years as an instructor for Toddler’s Tango /Babies Boogie Movement and Music Class
5 years teaching high school mathematics

Interests/Hobbies/Enjoys:
Kendra and her husband Rich are the proud parents to a son, Kaden and a daughter, Kaci. Kendra enjoys taking classes, reading, singing, music, dance, art, crocheting and baking. She is very excited to join UCUC and is looking forward to meeting the families and children in our program.

Randee Lynch

Class: 5-Day Older

Education:
Associates in Science Degree in Child Development from Mesa College.
 
Certificate:
Teacher Permit from the CA. Commission on Teacher Credentialing.
 
Experience:
Started teaching at UCUC Preschool in 2004 and has been working in the field of Early Childhood since 2002.
 
Interest/ Hobbies/ Enjoys:
Randee loves many outdoor activities; kayaking, fishing, riding, hiking, walking on the beach, swimming, gardening and dancing.
She enjoys animals and loves spending time with her family.


Pam Gallo

Class: 3-Day Asst. Teacher

Education:
B.A. in Theater from University of California at San Diego
17 Units in Early Childhood Education
 
Certification:
California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST) Certification
Working towards Associate Teacher Permit from the CA Commission on Teacher Credentialing
 
Experience:
18 years of experience working with preschool and elementary school age children.
3 years’ experience as a preschool program specialist at a STEAM based program.

Music and Disneyland


Carol Frasier

Class: 3-Day Older

Education:
A.A. in Child Development from Mesa College
B.A. in Elementary Education with emphasis on Special Education
Has earned additional units in Early Childhood Education from various universities and extensions as well as Montessori Training Centers

Experience:
Over 30 years in the Early Childhood Development field
Has worked at UCUC Preschool since 1992

Interests/Hobbies/Enjoys:
Traveling, reading, swimming and scrap booking


Ginny Pearce

Class:  3-Day Older & 2 Day Older Asst. Teacher

Ginny is the mother of two beautiful and energetic boys. She is a dedicated early childhood assistant teacher with passion for children’s learning and care. Ginny is very excited to be part of the UCUC Preschool family.
 
Education:
B.B.A in Hotel and Tourism Management from Khon Kean University  in Thailand.
Early Childhood Credential from American Montessori Society (AMS)
 
Experience:
One year working as a support teacher in a Montessori school.
Volunteer work at Torrey Pines Elementary- 2016-Present. Helping Kindergarten students with reading, dance, theater and music.
 
Interest/Hobbies/Enjoys:
Ginny enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She likes traveling, hiking, camping and running.


Tally Innes

Class: 2-Day Teacher

Education:
B.A. Human Development with emphasis in Child Services - California State University of San Marcos
Montessori Teaching Diploma ages 2 ½ to 6 years

Certifications:
Multiple Subject K-12 Teaching Credential - San Diego State University CA Commission on Teacher Credentialing Site Supervisor Permit

Experience:
Preschool Teacher at Mission Bay Montessori Academy for 9 years
Associate Preschool Teacher at La Jolla Country Day School for 5 years
Outreach Specialist at San Diego Burn Institute for 2 years

Interests/Hobbies/Enjoys:
My husband and I are very fortunate and proud parents of our son, Zachary. I enjoy spending time with my family and doing activities with them such as sailing, hiking, bike riding, swimming, going to the zoo, reading and walking our dog Daisy.


Trisha Goolsby

Class:  3-Day Younger & 2 Day Younger

Education:
BS in Interdisciplinary Studies
MS in Education
Concentration in Early Childhood/Early Childhood Special Education
 
Certifications:
Virginia Licensees in Early Childhood Special Education (birth to 5 years old) Early/Primary Education (PreK through 3rd Grade) Working towards transferring to Master Teacher Permit issued from the CA Commission on Teacher Credentialing

Experience:
4 years Lead Teacher of Early Childhood (infants, 2 years old, 3 years old)
3 years volunteering at Bonnie Brae Elementary school in Head Start
 
Interest/ Hobbies/ Enjoys:
Just moved to San Diego from the DC area about a year ago. I've loved taking advantage of exploring the outdoors with this all year round beautiful weather. I especially love to hike, relax at the beach, and bike around town. I'm an avid cookie baker, but I rarely eat them. Also on my down time, I enjoy health and fitness, reading, listening to music, playing sports, and spending time with friends/family. I'm thrilled to join the UCUC Preschool community. Who's ready for a fun-filled learning year?


Allison Hyde

Class:  3-Day Younger & 2 Day Younger Teacher

Education:
Working towards a B.A. degree in Child Development.
 
Experience:
Started working at UCUC Preschool in 2015.
 
Interest/ Hobbies/ Enjoys:
I enjoy being silly and fun. I care about each child’s well-being and I am dedicated to making preschool a safe learning environment. I love old movies, cooking and spending time with my family.


Chrissy Denman

Class:  Outdoor Teacher

Education:
BA in Fine Arts - Allegheny College
Early Childhood Education Course Work - Grossmont-Cuyamaca College

Experience:
4 years teaching in Early Childhood, both indoor and outdoor classrooms
2 years as Behavioral Interventionist/ ABA Therapist for children with special needs
 
Interest/ Hobbies/ Enjoys:
I am excited serve the UCUC community as Outdoor Teacher. I am experienced in creating inviting outdoor learning environments that are rich in playful possibilities and alive with natural materials. I believe that children learn best through strong loving relationships that foster confidence and creativity. I see myself as a lifelong student who learns alongside children.

I love travelling the globe with my husband and 8 year old son. The farther the destination the better! I am also a Reggae music aficionado, a Harry Potter lover, an aspiring ballet dancer, a storyteller, and a proponent of nonsense. Letís play!
